About the Song
„King of Things“ ist ein Song über die Illusion, alles im Griff zu haben. Über das Lächeln nach außen, während innen längst etwas bröckelt. Über diesen Moment, in dem man lauter „I’m killing it“ sagt als je zuvor – und genau das der erste Hinweis ist, dass man es gerade nicht tut.
Sonisch roh und analog: ein rollender Groove, der nicht aufhört, und Bläser, die fast ein bisschen zu sehr prahlen. Absichtlich. Performativ. Genau wie der Text.
Entstanden in einer Phase des ständigen Unterwegsseins – Touren, Weitermachen, Funktionieren. „King of Things“ ist die zweite Single der kommenden EP Rolling on a Runway – und der Song, der am ehrlichsten fragt: Warum hörst du eigentlich nicht auf?
